Monkey See, Monkey Do - Monkeying your way to success !

One of the ways to become successful is to follow the lead of someone who has become successful doing something that you aspire to do. Check out Hamilton Lin, CFA. A young chap. A graduate of the BS in Finance program from the NYU Stern School. He has no MBA. Just a Bachelor of Science degree. Yet, he has been very successful in the Banking world. He serves as an inspiration to me.

Do you know why? If I knew everything that he knows today, I would be making $100,000 a year very easily. Ultimately, knowledge is power. That is why it is so important to work hard and gain relevant knowledge requisite for success. I will waste no time in learning what he teaches in his classrooms.

Hamilton Lin, CFA, is President of Wall St. Training, a corporate training firm that teaches the fundamentals of financial analysis, modeling and valuation. Clients include prestigious firms including some of the largest investment banks, many boutique investment banks, buy-side asset managers, research firms and commercial banks, such as Banc of America Securities, Capital Group, CIBC World Markets, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Dow Jones, Fidelity, GE Private Equity, Greenhill, JPMorgan Chase, Loomis Sayles, TD Securities, TIAA-CREF and many others. Hamilton has a broad background in investment banking and mergers & acquisitions in diverse industries ranging from oil & gas to insurance to asset management and related sectors. He has worked on over five dozen deals and closed over two dozen deals, ranging from plain vanilla deals, to squeeze-outs, LBOs and distressed situations ranging in deal value from $10 million to over $6 billion.

Prior to founding his firm, Hamilton was at a boutique investment bank specializing in the financial services industry. He has also worked at: Hales & Co., a boutique merchant bank focused on the middle-market insurance industry; Banc of America Securities’ mergers and acquisitions group; Ryan Labs; and Goldman Sachs Investment Banking. In addition, he teaches all of the financial modeling and valuation courses at the major CFA Institute member societies Hamilton is a GLG Leader Council Member and a former adjunct professor at both Baruch College and Hunter College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and also teaches the CFA exam. He graduated from NYU Stern School of Business in Finance and International Business.
